Disaster Recovery
Disaster recovery, often shortened to DR, is the process of getting back to normal operations after a disaster. A disaster may be something small like a file being accidentally deleted at one end of the spectrum, but it can also cover things such as recovery from full system loss such as in the case of a flood or fire.
This process should follow a Disaster Recovery Plan, which is a documented set of procedures created with the aim to make recovery from a disaster as quick and stress-free as possible.
